Soccer told by a girl – The Mighty are fallen

Errrmmm….lllooll

Yeah I needed to laugh. For someone who is not such an ardent football fan (well not not a fan of football, a mild fan who only listens from behind the curtains), I find it impressive that I have found the courage to write about football today. The football fans should educate me whether the correct term is football or soccer? ‘cos I don’t know. What is catching my attention presently is Mourinho’s defeat today. Special One or Special Only one or whatever he calls himself, he has been sorely defeated in what will become one of his most historic defeats 😛 (no offense to the Chelsea fans). From the speculations (which I usually count on), no Premier league team has ever demolished Mourinho in such a fierce manner.

This is an ‘amazing loss’ (from a United standpoint at least), and I am so ecstatic about it. Evidently Mourinho would have had more to suffer for Aguero’s clear cut chances shot, if not for Goalkeeper Asmir Begovic’s spectacular saves! So spectacular was his last save before Aguero’s decisive first goal that, with utter disbelief the latter clinched the Bosnian on the shoulder with a strong pat of utmost approval.

So who is this team that has severely trounced Chelsea and utterly disgraced Jose Mourinho? Hadn’t heard of them so much but I heard they are called City. Umm… Manchester City. I know. Manchester is such a household dread name for Chelsea (ain’t our fault). For one, Manuel Pallegrini, is known to use his men very well – good resource management. In today’s game, Pallegrini’s position of Navas caused a lot of problems for Chelsea’s defense for he was placed in central midfield. Pallegrini has built stiff competitiveness for City by building their youth club and loaning out promising young stars to other clubs on one hand for money for his club and experience for his ‘boys’ on the other. I must confess the guy has a good eye for marketing. Nigerian’s 18 year old Kelechi Iheanacho is one such promising young City star. In his coaching style (prowess) Pallegrini is only exceeded by Arsenal’s Economist Arsene Wenger. Pallegrini is known not to flinch even when he loses (though never to Chelsea), the guy always keeps his calm come rain, shine or moon. After a change of ownership to rich ‘Arab merchants’ or so I heard, City’s restructuring led to their migrating from the “relegational” positions to number 5 on the league table. Afterwards they sprinted straightway to the first position (Hehe). The only reason they have not yet thrived in the Champion’s league is because they have got no experience in Champion’s league. What do you reckon, meeting the likes of Barcelona and Bayern Munich with about 50 years’ experience as opposed to City’s three years  or so experience.

Chelsea's mistake

Chelseas doom has long been coming (again excuse me Chelsea fans). Morinho bought Falcao with the aim to revive him (kidding me right??) Chelsea is known to have bought players for the purpose of depth and later sold them almost too quickly thus not giving them adequate opportunity to showcase their talents. Some names that come to mind are Belgian professional De Bruyne – now with Wolfburg for BundesLiga ( he has won best player for the Bundesliga scoring 20 goals though he is not a striker); Luis who was let go by our dear Jose Mourinho is now with Paris Saint Gemain,(PSG) whilst winger Mohammed Sallah moved to Fiorentina. And so now here they are feeling the pinch of their awkward decisions. As a United fan, I can’t help laughing in lengthy syllables. And on top of it, they have not bought anyone substantial during this window. Let the Chelsea lovers step forward albeit in a futile attempt to try to defend this unforgettable disgraceful loss. Looks like we have an interesting season on our hands to look forward to. I definitely can’t wait.

And like Mourinho typically does it here are some ‘valid’ excuses he has given for their apparent loss (HihiJ) Enjoy, and laugh whenever you want to:

  • City should have had two players sent off, this scoreline was ‘completely fake’
  • Fernandinho should have been sent off for an elbow, instead of only getting booked a yellow, and Yaya Toure should have been cautioned twice.
  • Costa required a bandage to his head after the first-half clash with Fernandinho
  • “Yaya Toure [should have been a] second yellow but the minute was the 83rd and it was 3-0,” he added. “It has no relation with the result but it has a relation with the rules and the rules say [that in] minute one or minute 90, it was a red card.”
  • Yet he admits that referee Martin Atkinson’s decision to allow Toure to stay on the field had no bearing on the outcome. (???)
  • City were only the superior side in the first 45 minutes, his team were on top thereafter and the three-goal margin was unfair.
  • “If the 1-0 was a doubtful result at minute 70, 3-0 is completely fake,”. “At 1-0 Chelsea were the best team for the whole second half. After our second half a 1-0 result would be unfair, so imagine the 2-0 or the 3-0. ” (As3m paa nie!)
  • “They were the best team in the first half. They controlled the game and created chances. We were comfortable with the ball but defensively we were quite fragile. In the second half, everything changed. We brought our defensive line to the midfield line. We pressed them and we created chances. We had lots of space in midfield. (So???)
  • “The second goal was out of context. We were punished for our mistakes for the second and third goal.” (What the samhill is Mourinho saying? AgyaWaadwo.
